This post reflects on the politics of doing inter-disciplinary research. What kinds of obstacles does knowledge production in inter-disciplinary fashion face? Can we take the value of inter-disciplinary research for granted? Is the objective of integrative research to produce a 'smooth story' or is space retained for contestation and divergence?
